Mark a small center square and place four numbered markers around it, each 6 to 8 feet away. Give every player a ball and enough room to dribble safely without colliding.
📋 How to Run It
- 1Players dribble slowly inside the center square while keeping the ball close.
- 2Call out a number and a turn such as inside cut, pullback, or sole drag.
- 3Players dribble to the matching marker, perform the named turn at the marker, and return to the middle.
- 4Change the turn or the marker quickly so players must keep listening and adjusting.
- 5After a few rounds, award a point for clean turns where the ball stays within one step.
💡 Coaching Tips
- •The turn should happen beside the cone, not three steps after it.
- •Lower the speed at the marker so the body stays balanced for the change of direction.
- •Coach players to look up before leaving the center square.
- •Use two turns repeatedly before adding more so beginners can succeed.
🔄 Variations
- •Easier: use only two markers and one simple pullback turn.
- •Harder: add a second call that tells players which foot must make the turn.
- •Partner challenge: one player calls the number while the other performs the turn.
